Royal Golf Club was initially opened in 1999, as Riffa Golf Club.
In 2008, it underwent a major redevelopment, with the golf course completely redesigned.
With the expansion of the club, it became known as the Royal Golf Club, located in the city of Riffa, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Christopher Giraghti, general manager of the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain, explained that there is an interesting aspect to the design, which is that the course has gas and oil infrastructure.
Not only that, but the stadium is designed around shiny white rocks with natural ripples, which add a very dramatic formation to the perimeter of the stadium.
Designed by architect Colin Montgomery, the 18-hole golf course is also an ideal place for beginners to start their golf trips.
Speaking to CNN Arabic, Giraghti said: "The golf course is unique and special compared to other courses in the region. Bahrain is known to have a hospitable, warm, kind and welcoming culture, and I would say that the experience the club offers is synonymous with the people of Bahrain and the way they treat people.
The golf course is located within the real estate development in Riffa Views, overlooking uniquely designed houses and some of the attractions that are very popular in the area.
Giraghti explained that talks are being held with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority to develop the golf tourism scene, and to bring back the European tour in the near future.
The weather in the Highlands can be unpredictable, even during the summer months. It's not uncommon to experience sudden changes in weather conditions, so you should be prepared for rain, wind, and cool temperatures.
